Why are we starting a Breakfast Club...          <Go back to the Question List >

We recognise that the working patterns of some parents/carers make it necessary for them to pay for child care before school starts in the mornings.

We would like to give parents/carers the option of dropping children at school at 7.45 a.m.

Our recent questionnaires show that there is a demand for such a provision. Some of you have indicated that you would like to send your children every morning and others that you would use the service periodically.

What are we offering ...           <Go back to the Question List >

We will greet your child at the front door of the school at 7.45 a.m., give them breakfast, make other activities available (e.g. television, computer games etc.) and escort them either to the playground at 8.40 a.m. (years Five and Six) or to class at 8.45 a.m. (Reception to Year Four).

Who can join our Breakfast Club ...           <Go back to the Question List >

Any child on roll at the school

What does it cost ...           <Go back to the Question List >

£3.00 per daily session to be paid in advance.

When does it start ...           <Go back to the Question List >

On the first day of the summer term - Tuesday 25th April 2006

What time can I drop my child off ...           <Go back to the Question List >

A member of our Breakfast Club Staff will be at the front door from 7.45 a.m. All children should arrive by 7.50a.m. If a child is late due to unforeseen circumstances, there will be a Breakfast Club doorbell to summon a member of staff.

How many children can join ...           <Go back to the Question List >

A maximum of twelve per day. Priority will be given to those children who are booked in every day.

.

Who runs the club ...           <Go back to the Questions List >

There will always be two staff at each session. In the summer term it will be Mrs Clarke and Mrs Hickson who will acts as joint managers.
As an additional provision of the school, the Headteacher and the School Governors will have overall control of the club.

Where does it meet ...           <Go back to the Questions List>

In the Parents and Community Room on the first floor.

How do I book a place ...           <Go back to the Questions List >

By completing a form (available at the office). Places must be booked and paid for one week in advance.

What's for breakfast ...           <Go back to the Questions List>

Cereal, toast and fruit juice.

What else will my child do ...           <Go back to the Questions List >

Play board games, draw, watch television/DVDs, play computer games etc.
Please note: We are seeking to provide a high quality childcare service. We are not trying to be a "homework club". Children may choose to do their homework at the club if they wish but are under no pressure to do so.

What if my child is ill ...           <Go back to the Questions List >

You will need to telephone the school so we know not to expect him/her. Unfortunately we cannot refund money if a child is unable to attend.

What about an after school provision ...           <Go back to the Questions List >

Watch this space ! Plans are already underway to extend the provision to after school.

We want to know what you think !

Our intention is to provide a safe environment before the start of the school day for children whose parents/carers would find it convenient to drop their children off at 7.45a.m.

If you have any ideas or suggestions as to how we could develop this service, please speak to any of the management group (listed below).

BREAKFAST CLUB MANAGEMENT GROUP
Mrs Jo Birch - Parent Governor
Mrs Rachel Clarke - Joint Manager
Mr. Daniel Hains - Headteacher
Mrs Kim Hickson - Joint Manager
Mrs Linda Schlachter - Parent Governor
Mrs Lindsey Smithson - Office Manager

Please Note : The club is being run on a trial basis in the summer term. If it is well used and financially viable, it will continue next year.
