Our Vision

Our Vision

At St. John's Church of England Primary School our Christian values are at the heart of everything we do. Our whole school community work together to create JOY in living and learning.

Our school motto is:

‘The JOY of the Lord is Your Strength’ (Nehemiah 8:10)

  • Give your heart to JESUS and follow his example
  • Build positive relationships with OTHERS
  • Be proud of YOURSELF

At St. John's Church of England Primary School, we believe it is important to develop core Christian values in order to develop a moral and spiritual awareness. Values are the things we believe in that help us to make decisions about how to behave. They are the principles that guide our lives.

Values Education is not just something that helps you to learn when you are younger; it is a set of tools that you will carry with you all your life. To feel valued is a special thing and something we want to make sure everyone experiences at St.John's C.E Primary School.

Last year, we involved our whole school community in reviewing our values. This resulted in six new values being chosen. We will focus on one value each half term to ensure that we fully understand how we can live out and experience each one.

Our Christian Values this year:
Term 1: Respect
Term 2: Thankfulness
Term 3: Compassion
Term 4: Truthfulness
Term 5: Trust
Term 6: Responsibility

J.O.Y Challenges

Every week our children will be given J.O.Y Challenges to help them think about living out our school values.

We will also send home a home school values sheet every half term, which is full of ideas to explore our values and have fun together as a family. You can also download the sheets below.
