Special Educational Needs and Disabilities
On this page you can find out information about our polcies for children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).
Our SENDCO (Special Educational Needs Co-ordinator) is Charlotte Preston who is also class teacher in Year 2 at the beginning of the week. She manages all aspects of our provision for SEND at St. John's and is the best person to contact should you have any queries.
If you are worried about your child's attainment or progress in any way, the best person to speak to in the first instance is your child's teacher. If you feel that this has not addressed your concerns, please feel free to make an appointment to see Mrs Preston, or myself.
Also through this page you can find out information about Sefton's Local Offer. This is a website where you can find out everything you need to know for children and young people aged 0 - 25 years with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities, whether it be their rights as a citizen or services for education, health or employment to name but a few.
Information on Sefton's Local Offer can be found at www.seftondirectory.co.uk/localoffer

Admissions for Children with Special Educational Needs or Disabilities
You will find a wealth of information on our Admissions page (http://stjohnsprimary.co.uk/page/admissions-to-st-johns/24730) including contact details for Sefton Admissions who handle the process of starting at or transferring to St. John's.
If your child has additional or special educational needs we would encourage you to ring for an informal chat with either the headteacher or SENDCO. We will then be able to guide you through the process of applying for our school; the earlier you are able to make contact with us the easier the process can be, especially if there are further professionals or agencies involved in supporting your child. Our contact details are:
