Attendance

At St.John's Church of England Primary School, we are committed to ensuring that all children have excellent attendance. Children have the right to education, based on equality of opportunity and St. John's Cof E Primary School in partnership with parents and other parties, must take measures to encourage regular school attendance and reduce rates of absenteeism. Our priority remains to support pupils to attend school regularly, as we know that good attendance is closely linked to academic progress, wellbeing and safeguarding.

St. John's Church of England Primary School recognises the crucial role that parents play in promoting good school attendance. The school therefore seeks to provide professional, quality information and advice, communicated frequently by telephone, Class Dojo leaflets, parents’ evenings, school reports and attendance reports which are sent out to parents termly. Please see the attendance leaflet below which provides an overview of how we approach attendance at school as well as helpful tips for parents to promote attendance at home. Useful attendance information and updates will also be shared on Class Dojo regularly.

We reward children for excellent attendance throughout the year, this includes weekly and yearly prizes for excellent attendance. We also run attendance challenges at different points throughout the year which supports our commitment to achieve the very best attendance for all pupils.

If you would like further information on attendance at St. John's please see the policy below or contact a member of the attendance team (Mr Thomson, Mrs Thomas or Miss Bishop) via Class Dojo or by calling the school office to make an appointment.
